Mechi Zone is one of the fourteen zones of Illam .It headquarters are at Illam .It comes under the Eastern Region of Nepal and its disputed border with India.Mechi zone has four district has Natural,Historical,Religious and cultural attraction.People follow different religion in this Mechi zone many people were in different cast like Rai,Gurung,Limbu,Brami etc.There are many places to visit in Mechi zone like Kanyam,Antu,Kanyam is popular because of the tea garden Antu is the place from where the sun rise.The major occupation include in Mechi zone is agriculture,animal husbandry,trade and businessman .
Mechi zone is one of seventy five district of Nepal.In Mechi zone most of the people are educated and helpful.People have good habit.Kanchenjunga region fulls in Teplejung district of Mechi zone.Till now Biratlaxmi is providing its services in three district sunsari and morang of Koshi zone and Jhapa of Mechi zone.
